John Sweeney, Bass- Baritone

Born in Great Falls and raised on the family ranch near Belt, John began his musical journey winning Montana's NATS singing competition during his senior year at Belt High School. He went on to study philosophy and English literature at the University of Notre Dame, completed a music degree at the University of Montana, and pursued advanced vocal training at the University of Music in Vienna — studying with acclaimed teachers Paula Köhler and Walter Berry.

His European career has taken him to Vienna, Berlin, Hamburg, and beyond, where he has performed dramatic and comic roles in opera, operetta, musicals, and concert halls. In Montana, John has performed with the Summer Showcase in Great Falls, the Glacier Symphony Orchestra and Chorale in Kalispell, and Opera Montana in Bozeman.

Steve Olson, Piano

A Belt, Montana native, Steve Olson holds degrees in Piano Performance and Music Education from the University of Montana. A versatile and deeply committed musician, he serves as orchestra director at Charles M. Russell High School in Great Falls, performs as a freelance pianist and violinist with several Montana symphonies, and brings more than twenty years of experience as a musical theatre accompanist, pit musician, and music director.

Steve is the founder of both the Steve Olson Orchestra — a Great Falls volunteer ensemble dedicated to mentoring young musicians — and the Big Sky Telemann Players, a Baroque ensemble that gave regular summer concerts from 2012 to 2016. As a composer, arranger, and educator, Steve's passion lies in championing historically underrepresented composers and making music accessible to everyone.
